Prompt share-of-voice tracking
Prompt share-of-voice tracking measures how often, and how, an organization appears in the answers generated for the questions its buyers ask: a defined set of buyer prompts run on a schedule across ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Perplexity, Copilot and Google AI Overviews and AI Mode, with the mentions, citations, position within the answer and sentiment recorded for the organization and its competitors. It is needed when a GEO program needs a baseline and a trend, when leadership asks whether AI visibility is improving, when competitors appear in answers and the organization does not, or when content decisions need evidence about which questions are won and lost. Tracking produces the prompt set, the monthly measurement, share of voice by engine and prompt cluster, and the trend against baseline.

Questions
Asked before engaging.
Why do answers vary between runs?
Engines are non-deterministic. The method runs prompts repeatedly and reports frequencies, which is why a single screenshot proves nothing.
How many prompts are tracked?
Enough to cover the buyer intents that matter, organized in clusters. The number is set in the proposal for each client.
Is this the same as rank tracking?
No. There is no rank. There is presence, citation, position within an answer and sentiment, across several engines that behave differently.
