Security posture reviews
A security posture review is an independent, evidence-based assessment of how well an organization’s controls are designed, operated and documented across identity, endpoints, network, cloud, data and operations. It is needed when leadership, a customer, an insurer or a board asks how secure the organization actually is and nobody can answer with evidence, before a certification or audit cycle begins, or after a change such as an acquisition, a cloud migration or a leadership transition. The review produces a scored view of each control domain against a recognized framework, a ranked list of exposures with the business consequence of each, and a remediation plan that fits the environment rather than a generic checklist. It is delivered under the client’s name where required and written to be read by both technical staff and the people who govern them.
Scope
What the review covers.
- Control inventory across identity, endpoints, network, cloud, data and operations
- Design and operating effectiveness of each control, with evidence sampled
- Alignment to the chosen framework: NIST CSF 2.0, ISO/IEC 27001 or CIS Controls
- Exposure analysis: which weaknesses matter in this environment, and why
- Documentation quality: policies, procedures, records and ownership
- Comparison with contractual and regulatory obligations already in force

Questions
Asked before engaging.
How is a posture review different from a penetration test?
A penetration test attempts to exploit weaknesses on a date. A posture review assesses whether the controls that should prevent, detect and recover from exploitation exist and operate. Most organizations need the review first.
Will the review disrupt operations?
No. The work is interview-, document- and read-access based. Any technical validation is scheduled and scoped with your team in advance.
Can the report be shared with customers or insurers?
Yes. The report is written to be shared, and a summary edition without internal detail can be prepared for third parties.
