Remediation tracking

Remediation tracking for partners runs the follow-through after an assessment, audit or penetration test on a partner’s client: consolidating findings, assigning owners between the partner and the client, tracking progress, verifying closure and reporting status in the partner’s name. It is needed when findings are delivered and then forgotten, when responsibility for fixes is split between the partner and the client and nobody tracks the whole, when a client’s auditor will ask what happened to last year’s findings, or when the partner wants to show clients that its service closes issues rather than just reporting them. Tracking produces a consolidated register per client, ownership and dates agreed between partner and client, verified closure with evidence, and the status reporting that makes progress visible to everyone who needs to see it.

Questions

Asked before engaging.

Do you fix the findings?

Where the partner wants us to and the scope allows. Tracking is the same whoever does the fixing.

How do you handle findings the client refuses to fix?

They are recorded as risk acceptances with the client’s decision, which protects the partner and informs the auditor.

Can the client see the register?

That is the partner’s choice. Many partners share it as proof of service.
