Audit readiness
Audit readiness is the state in which an organization’s controls, documentation and evidence are organized so that an auditor or assessor can examine them without delay or surprise.
Extended definition
In more detail.
A ready organization knows what the auditor will ask, has the evidence indexed to each requirement, has closed or formally accepted its gaps, and has performed its own internal audit first. Readiness work includes gap assessment, documentation written to actual practice, evidence collection and remediation. It turns an audit from an event into a confirmation.
