Remote hands
Remote hands is the service by which on-site technicians at a data center or facility perform physical tasks, such as reboots, cable changes and hardware swaps, on behalf of an organization that is not present.
Extended definition
In more detail.
The service is routine and risky in the same way maintenance is: a request executed without verification, authorization, logging or a change record can open access, alter configuration or remove the wrong device. Governance means verifying requesters, defining what may be requested, recording what was done and closing each request against a change record.
