Insights · Question
Can we keep our current agency during the transition?
Yes. Measurement and GEO work can run alongside an incumbent agency, and often should at first: the baseline audit, the prompt set, share-of-voice tracking and the monthly evidence report establish one set of definitions that every party reports against, which usually clarifies what the incumbent is and is not delivering. Paid-media governance can sit beside an existing agency or replace it; either way the accounts stay in your name. Where the incumbent’s work conflicts with the program, such as thin pages or tags that must go, the evidence report says so and you decide.
In more detail
The reasoning.
The usual friction is not technical but about measurement: an incumbent reporting rankings and sessions and a program reporting share of voice and qualified inquiries. The baseline fixes the definitions, and the comparison becomes visible to leadership rather than argued between vendors.
Transitions that work are sequenced: measurement first, then the site and entity work, then content, with paid governance introduced when conversion tracking integrity is in place. Nothing is torn down that is still bringing in business; the migration keeps the rankings and the paid account is governed rather than restarted.
