Digital PR
Digital PR is the placement of an organization’s expertise, research and commentary in third-party sources that engines and buyers already trust, such as trade press, associations, directories and podcasts.
Extended definition
In more detail.
Answer engines cite sources they trust, and many of those are not the organization’s own site. Appearing in them, with substance and under the expert’s name, raises the probability that engines encounter and trust the organization, and reinforces entity consistency through external profiles. Paid links and placement schemes are excluded; the practice is being present where the sector’s trusted sources are, with something worth saying.
